Story of the Month, October 2007, Red Deer in the Rut

October is the month for Red Deer to start their rut. In the last couple of years I have struggled to get good images, mainly because the weather has not produced dawns of crisp frosts and  clear light. This year a run of 5 or 6 delightful mornings allowed a number of photographic sessions. When the light was dull I concentrated on trying to create blur in running deer. When good light and early mists transpired  I looked for more moody-evocative shots of this amazing British spectacle.
